Vault Networks Policies

Vault Networks is committed to making our customers' web hosting experiences as easy, enjoyable, and customer friendly as possible. To help us meet this goal, we have implemented policies and procedures designed to:

  • Protect the rights and interests of our customers.
  • Protect the rights and interests of Vault Networks.
  • Keep operating costs to a minimum.
  • Define all services in advance.

All of our policies automatically apply to all customers who use and/or request Vault Networks services. In general, we request the following of our customers:

  • You may not participate in any illegal activity. Questionable activities will result in immediate termination of services.
  • Spam of all kind, including that sent to newsgroups, is prohibited. You may not use our services to send any type of mass mailing to anyone who has not requested and does not want it. Please be aware that sending any type of mass mailing carries a risk—even if the person has opted for it. Reported spam may result in termination of service.
  • You may not break any copyright laws. Please do not use the websites, graphics, file, or content of others without their express permission.
  • You may not collect data on your users without their knowledge; doing so is illegal and will cause termination of your service.
  • Distribution of viruses or code for creating viruses is prohibited.
  • Ensure that you and/or any third parties using your server follow Vault Networks' AUP and TOS. Anything occurring on your server is your responsibility, and the misuse of your server by a third party will still be considered your fault.
  • Take appropriate measures to ensure the security of your server. Damages caused as a result of breach of your server's security will be billed to you.
  • Please be aware that not all support provided by Vault Networks is free of charge. If you are unsure of whether the support you are requesting will incur a charge, please ask prior to the start of such support.

More specific information concerning certain Vault Networks policies is included below. This information represents only a summary of our policies. For exact wording, please refer to the specific document as provided by Vault Networks.

Cancellation and Termination Charges

You may cancel your Service Agreement before the services are delivered by providing Vault Networks with written notice of the cancellation. Your cancellation notice must specifically identify the service(s) you would like to cancel. Should you choose to cancel service prior to its delivery, you will be required to pay a fee equal to one month's monthly recurring charges plus any non-recurring charges for the services you cancel.

If you wish to terminate your service after its delivery, you must provide Vault Networks with a 30-day written notice specifying the service(s) you want to terminate. Your written request must include:

  • Today's date.
  • The service being cancelled.
  • The reason for the cancellation.
  • Your signature.

Your termination request may be faxed to us at 1-708-575-4280. Your request must be received in writing. We cannot accept email or verbal requests for termination.

Upon termination, either by your request or due to default, you will be responsible for payment of a termination charge equal to all unpaid amounts due plus 100% of all remaining monthly recurring charges due for completion of the agreement unless otherwise specified in your agreement.

Payment

Your service is dependent upon prompt payment of all charges due to Vault Networks. Your service will not be established until your initial payment is received. All payments after the initial one will be due on the reoccurring date established in your service agreement. You may pay via:

  • Credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover).
  • PayPal.
  • Wire transfer.
  • Check.
  • Money order.

You are responsible for any charges arising from your chosen payment method. If you are paying by check, money order, or wire transfer, please send your payment at least 7 days before its due date so that it will be received in a timely manner.

If Vault Networks determines that you are abusing or misusing a payment method, we reserve the right to deny your request to use that payment method. Abuse or misuse of a payment method may also result in additional disciplinary actions, which may include immediate and permanent termination of your services and/or account with Vault Networks.

All payments must be received by Vault Networks prior to the end of the 5-day grace period.

Invoicing

Vault Networks will send your invoices via email 10 days before the due date; we do not use paper or hard-copy invoices. If you require more than a 10-day notice, please request an alternate invoicing day. We will invoice anywhere from 10 to 30 days prior to the invoice's due date.

Payments and Fees

If your payment is more than 5 days past due, your service will be interrupted. If your service is interrupted due to nonpayment, abuse, or requested cancellation, you will incur a $100 fee for reconnection. If we are unable to collect your payment, your account will be turned over to an outside collection agency. Accounts turned over for collection will incur a "Processing and Collection" fee of $50 to $150.

Refunds and Disputes

Payments, including setup fees, are nonrefundable regardless of usage. If you feel an error has been made on your invoice, please report it to us within 30 days. If you dispute a charge made to your credit card that is determined to be valid, you will be charged an "Administrative Fee" of $50 to $150.

We will refund subscription PayPal payments that are not cancelled at the time of your Vault Networks cancellation. Such refunds will be less any fees and Vault Networks will cancel your subscription payment.

Failure to Pay

If you fail to make payment within the 5-day grace period for any service, we may deny or terminate the agreement. Reconnection after full payment will incur a $100 fee.

Service Agreement (TOS)

Our TOS outlines our billing and payment policies, including how and when you can expect to receive invoices as well as payment methods you may use to make your timely payment. You will also find information about fees that may be incurred as a result of late or nonpayment. The agreement also provides you with specific information about your responsibilities as a customer of Vault Networks.

Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

The AUP sets specific guidelines for what types of activities using our services are prohibited by Vault Networks. Here you will also find information about your responsibility to report suspected violations of the AUP and what to expect should you violate the policy.

Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) Policy

Vault Networks will comply with all applicable regulations applying to intellectual property, including DMCA. However, you should be aware that Vault Networks is not responsible for the websites of our customers; therefore, if you feel your rights have been infringed upon by a customer of Vault Networks, you should take your complaint directly to the offending party rather than to Vault Networks.

Infringements falling under DMCA should be reported to Vault Networks following the procedures outlined in our DMCA policy found here.

IP Usage Policy

Each of our customers will receive up to five IP addresses for each server; you may request additional IP addresses, at a minimal cost to you, as needed. Because we wish to ensure that IP addresses are fairly and properly assigned, we may occasionally ask you to provide documentation showing how your IP addresses are being used.

You may not add IP addresses not specifically assigned to your server. Doing so may present service interruptions to our other customers. Therefore, if unauthorized IP addresses are found on your server, Vault Networks will disable your server until we are able to contact your system administrator and charge you a $100 labor fee.

More information about our IP Usage policy can be found here.
